State Senator Peter Durant was elected on November 7th, 2023, to fill the vacated Worcester and Hampshire Senate District. A lifelong resident of Spencer, Massachusetts, Peter first began his public service on the Spencer Finance Committee and was later elected to the Spencer Board of Selectmen in 2006.
In 2011, Durant was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives to represent the 6th Worcester District. Throughout his career in public service, he has earned a reputation as a defender of the taxpayer, an advocate for small businesses, and a hard-working public servant.

Relief for Crumbling Foundations
Thousands of homes in our region were built with concrete that is failing from the inside out, and insurance won't cover a dime of it. Families face repair bills of $250,000 or more through no fault of their own. Peter authored the bill to create a relief fund for these homeowners, and he won't stop fighting until Beacon Hill acts.
Making Beacon Hill Answer to You
In 2024, voters overwhelmingly approved an audit of the state Legislature. Beacon Hill has fought it ever since, offering excuses and half measures instead. Peter's position is simple, and he's demanding the full audit the voters ordered. Nothing less.
Protecting Our Water from PFAS
"Forever chemicals" have been found in water supplies across Massachusetts, and the families exposed to them deserve answers, not excuses. Peter Durant is fighting for legislation that guarantees medical monitoring for exposed residents and holds polluters accountable for the contamination they caused. Clean water isn't a partisan issue. It's a basic promise.
